CHRIS PRATT ADDRESSES POSSIBLE DCU ROLE AND STAR-LORD'S MCU FUTURE

Chris Pratt is keeping the door open for reuniting with James Gunn with a DCU role. However, he's also hoping that his run as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't over just yet.

Pratt is known in part for playing Star-Lord in many MCU films, notably as one star of Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. Gunn has since been appointed as a co-CEO of DC Studios, effectively ending his MCU run as he focuses on building the DCU with Peter Safran. Per TMZ, Pratt was asked about the possibility of switching over from the MCU to the DCU with a role in Gunn's new cinematic universe. While confirming he'd be up for it, Pratt noted how he didn't have a specific role in mind, feeling better about leaving that up to Gunn to decide.

On which role he might play, the actor added, "Man, I just have to leave that to the fans and people like James to decide. I'm not exactly sure. I'm truly not sure... Yes, of course, if it could fit into my schedule, and made sense, then I would love [to join the DCU]."

Chris Pratt Wants Star-Lord to Return in the MCU

Gunn might be finished with the MCU, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the Guardians of the Galaxy characters won't be seen again. Pratt noted how he's still hoping to get the call from Marvel Studios to return as Star-Lord in a new MCU project. In any case, he's grateful for the run he's already had as Star-Lord, as well as for even being in the conversation about possibly taking on another role in the DCU.

"Of course, I loved playing Star-Lord, and so hopefully there's a chance that could come back," Pratt said. "I just feel so blessed to be able to do any of it, to be considered for any of it. If it's right, and the fans would love it, then I'd be more than happy to do it."

Pratt recently led the cast of The Garfield Movie as the voice of the titular feline. He can next be seen in the upcoming Netflix movie The Electric State, which reunites him with Avengers: Endgame co-directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. The film will be released on Netflix later in 2024.
