LOOK UP! WHEN TO SEE F-35 FLYOVERS FOR JULY 4TH

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The men and women of Luke Air Force Base will make sure the sound of freedom on July 4th isn’t just from fireworks. The versatile F-35′s from the 56th Fighter Wing based in the West Valley will fly over 13 different events spread out across the state.

Base officials released their flyover schedule via social media on July 1st and list events all across the Valley and throughout Northern Arizona, starting just before 6 p.m. Thursday and ending at 8 p.m.

The Air Force always states that times are subject to change but folks across the Valley and up north through Payson, Cottonwood, Prescott, Wickenburg and finally ending down south in Maricopa should see the fighter jets perfectly with clear skies expected.

Luke Air Force base is the largest fighter wing in the USAF and trains 75% of the world’s F-35 pilots.

Below are the arrival time estimates:

  1. 5:50-5:55 p.m. - Tolleson (Veteran Spark)
  2. 5:50-6:00 p.m. - Avondale (Phoenix Raceway)
  3. 6:00-6:10 p.m. - Mesa (Mesa Convention Center)
  4. 6:10-6:15 p.m. - Tempe (Tempe Beach Park)
  5. 6:15-6:20 p.m. - Phoenix (Steele Indian School Park)
  6. 6:30-6:40 p.m. - Payson (Green Valley Park)
  7. 6:45-6:55 p.m. - Cottonwood (Cottonwood Municipal Airport)
  8. 6:50-7 p.m. - Prescott (Watson Lake Park)
  9. 7-7:10 p.m. - Wickenburg (Sunset Park)
  10. 7:15-7:25 p.m. - Surprise (Surprise Stadium)
  11. 7:35-7:45 p.m. - Buckeye (Buckeye Municipal Airport)
  12. 7:40-7:50 p.m. - Goodyear (Goodyear Ballpark)
  13. 7:55-8 p.m. - Maricopa (Copper Sky Regional Park)
