THE CREEDS ARE THE LATEST WWE WRESTLERS BOOKED FOR A NON-WWE SHOW

The month of July (Saturday the 13th, to be exact) will see two-time WWE champion AJ Styles return to Japan for a showdown with four-time GHC World champ Naomichi Marufuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Destination show, and former WWE Women’s champ IYO SKY make a trip back to her home country for a joshi dream match against Utami Hayashishita in Rossy Ogawa’s new Marigold promotion.

While those — along with the ongoing NXT/TNA crossover — are the marquee examples of WWE’s new openness to working with other promotions, the company’s also formed a bond with Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport brand. Yesterday (July 1), Barnett announced that two new WWE names will be working his July 28 show in New York City along with the returning Shayna Baszler.

And they’re logical choices, both because they’re not currently being featured on Raw and because their amateur wrestling backgrounds make them a great fit for Bloodsport’s MMA/pro wrestling hybrid concept. The Creed Brothers are headed to Bloodsport XI.

Bloodsport, which operates under the Game Changer Wrestling umbrella, doesn’t do tag matches. Thus, Brutus & Julius are listed separately and will almost certainly work as singles competitors on the card for Brooklyn’s Roulette Intermedium.

Baszler was announced for the July 28 show last week. No opponent’s have been named for any of the WWE talent on the show, but Shayna’s Bloodsport X opponent — TNA’s Masha Slamovich — is booked for Bloodsport XI, along with “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Matt Makowski, and Akira. Homicide vs. Mike Santana is the only match that’s been confirmed.

Excited for Bloodsport XI? Still on-board with all pro wrestling’s cross-promotional craze?
