ROMAN REIGNS MAKES HIS RETURN ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF WWE SMACKDOWN

The September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown from Seattle, Washington marked the return of the blue brand show to the USA Network after spending the last five years on FOX. The show started off with a new logo and a new theme song supplied by Megan Thee Stallion, before kicking off with a short promo from Triple H introducing the first match of Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship inside of a steel cage against the Bloodline's new Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa. When Cody found himself under attack from the faction, it was none other than Roman Reigns who returned to make the save.

Cody Rhodes Is Attacked By The Bloodline After Defeating Solo Sikoa

The first half hour of SmackDown was commercial free, and the sold out crowd in Seattle roared as the face of WWE, Cody Rhodes, battled Solo Sikoa inside of a steel cage. After several near falls, and Rhodes, of course, jumping off the top of the cage, the American Nightmare was victorious. However, his victory was short-lived, as the Bloodline came out and attacked Rhodes inside the cage. Just as Jacob Fatu went to the top of the cage, ready to jump down on Rhodes, Roman's music hit, and the Original Tribal Chief came to the ring.

Roman Reigns Has A Staredown With Jacob Fatu

After destroying half of the Bloodline, who took out Reigns a few weeks after his return at SummerSlam, Jacob Fatu entered the ring for a staredown. WWE has done a great job of keeping the two apart for now, and that continued tonight, with Solo Sikoa pulling Fatu out of the ring before he and Roman could come to blows.

Following this, Reigns turned to Cody Rhodes, who helped him fight off the Bloodline and gave him a respectful nod, before turning his attention back to Sikoa in the aisleway.

Roman Reigns Signs A Contract For A Huge Match

Later in the night, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis had a contract prepared for Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to take on the Bloodline but the American Nightmare said he was done and ready to move on. To end the show, Reigns stood in the ring with Aldis, where he finally spoke for the first time since his return. Roman told the crowd that he didn't need Aldis, a contract, and certainly not Cody Rhodes, to take on the Bloodline. He called himself not the original Tribal Chief, but the only Tribal Chief.

This led to Cody Rhodes coming down to the ring to remind him that this was his WWE now and not Roman's. As the two looked ready to fight, they were attacked by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. After easily getting rid of them, Roman Reigns signed the contract while staring down Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu outside. Finally, Cody signed as well, setting up Rhodes and Reigns vs. Sikoa and Fatu at Bad Blood in Atlanta.
